Launch of EAP Services Online Career Assessment Tool (OLCAT)
We are delighted to announce the launch of our online career assessment tool (OLCAT). Over the past year we have had a team of HR practitioners developing and testing our online career assessment tool.
The online tool is web based, user friendly and provides a system generated report summarising key results that provides an excellent foundation for performance, career development or career transition discussions. It has been designed to assist individuals in identifying and clarifying occupational interests, skills, career values and career motivators enabling them to make informed decisions in relation to career planning.
On provision of a username and password users will complete a questionnaire split into four sections with rating continuums provided for each section.
Section1 – Occupational Interests
The Occupational interest section of the questionnaire is designed to assess individual interest in different occupations and categories or types of occupations. It may identify an area of employment not previously considered.
Section 2 – Key Transferable Competencies
This section is designed to identify both the level of skill and level of enjoyment in the 59 competencies listed that encompass both work and non-work situations.
Section 3 – Career Values
This section is designed to identify factors which are important to individuals to ensure career satisfaction.
Section 4 – Career Motivators
A motivator provides us with a reason or incentive to do something. This section is designed to identify the key factors in an individual’s career that drive them.
System Generated Report
On completion of the questionnaire users will have immediate access to a system generated report, identifying a range of key information from each of the four sections of the questionnaire and providing guidance and instruction in relation to developing a career planning strategy.
We would be delighted to discuss this new initiative further with you. Please feel free to contact us on 0800 327 669 or email us on ak@eapservices.co.nz if you have any questions or you would like additional information.
